Players are being ‘poached’ at a younger and younger age. We probably do it ourselves. It’s a bit galling - when a player goes away to a bigger club they usually become one of the dozens out in perpetual loans and if they’re lucky make a career do r themselves - or if they actually do make it through as a youngster into a first team (pretty rare) they become ‘one of our own’.
