Washington Spirit select Madison Elwell 15th overall in the 2022 NWSL Draft

Washington, D.C., (12/18/21) – The Washington Spirit have selected Vanderbilt forward/midfielder Madison Elwell with the 15th overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft. Washington acquired the pick via a trade with OL Reign.
The Ambler, Pennsylvania native scored 12 goals and assisted on another 29 for the Commodores in her five seasons in Nashville. Elwell also earned Second-Team All-SEC honors in each of her final three seasons at Vanderbilt.
