Thursday morning update: St. Ambrose advanced several swimmers to Thursday afternoon finals. On the women's side, both the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard medley relay teams qualified for 'B' finals. Andrea Adam, Catie Schimmelpfenning, Francesca Walker-Rozo and Kelly Baughman touched the wall in 1:41.77 to take 12th in the 200 free relay. Bethany Anderson, Molly Sullivan, Walker-Rozo and Schimmelpfenning 

Emily Hartman (5:24.73) and Molly Sullivan (5:33.06) placed 28th and 43rd in the 500-yard freestyle, respectively, in qualifying.

The Bee men also had success in the relays. Ryan Warrick, Reece Powell, Keagan Dolphin and Caleb Gaylor took seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Their time of 1:25.18 will put them in the 'A' final.

Gaylor also advanced to the finals in the 50-yard freestyle. His qualifying time of 21.22 seconds was good for 14th, placing him in Thursday afternoon's 'B' final. Seven other Bees competed in the 50 free. Victor Del Rio Foces (21st), Petter Kolaas (23rd) and Powell (25th) were the top finishers behind Gaylor. Warrick, Dolphin, Kevin Krupitzer and Zac Robinson also competed. Justin Fales (4:46.16) and Isaac Garcia (4:56.56) missed qualifying for the finals in the 500-yard freestyle.

Wednesday update: The Bees grabbed points on the first day of competition, scoring in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The men's team of Petter Kolaas, Justin Fales, Leo Edwards and Rais Hassim took 12th in a time of 7:00.22 for 10 points. Bethany Anderson, Molly Sullivan, Emily Hartman and Kelly Baughman finished 14th in the women's race with a time of 8:13.84 to earn six points.
