In her first competition of the 2020 season, Mosena shook off the rust from a season-ending injury that sidelined her during the 2019 spring and fall seasons. The Italian finished in sixth place on the women’s 1-meter springboard with a score of 258.95 and had a strong preliminary performance scoring 251.95.

Also competing for Arkansas on Friday was freshman Josephine Matalone, who placed 28th in the women’s 1-meter with a score of 223.65.

Arkansas Diving Coach Dale Schultz

“Coming back from a terrible ankle injury, Estilla had one of the most consistent performances of her short collegiate career. This should help prepare her for the upcoming SEC Championships. Josie has been more focused on 3-meter and platform this fall, she had a solid 1-meter contest today. Having only had limited high school experience, Josie continues to improve. I am really looking forward to watching Josie’s 3-meter and platform contests.”
