PPYCC 2025 AGM & Awards – 15th November
The 2025 the AGM and Awards are on Saturday 15th November at 3pm, at Knoyle Hall just round the corner from the track. We will be all done by 5:30, so its the perfect way to start your Saturday night.
It is always a highlight of the club year, with a mixture of fun activities and prize giving (with a tiny bit of club procedural stuff to get out of the way first).
We also have some pro-level kit donations to give away as part of the raffle. This is always a highlight for young riders!
We look forward to seeing on Saturday 15th at 3pm to celebrate the successes of all our riders, who have all contributed so much to the club this year.
Elections
The actual AGM part usually takes no more than 30 minutes, this will include short reports from the Chair and Treasurer followed by the election of committee members. We recognise that this is the boring bit for younger members so we will aim to rattle through it pretty quickly.
The three Officer roles being elected are Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Existing officers Jack & Jessamy Hibberd are standing for re-election as Co-chairs, while Kevin Phillips is standing again as Treasurer. Andy Neale is standing down as Secretary after a number of years in role and the whole committee would like to thank Andy for his significant contribution to the club. We are very lucky that Claire Dewey will be seeking election to replace him. As part of the management committee, we also have John Rockliffe standing for re-election as Membership Secretary. This part of the day will finish with a short presentation from our Welfare Officers, Laura Evans and Thomasina Hammett.
Membership of the committee is open to all parents and guardians of our youth members, or others who are deemed interested in furthering the work of the club. If anyone is interested in standing for any of these committee positions then please feel free to contact us for an informal chat via chair@ppycc.org.uk. Job shares are always very welcome to help share the load so don’t worry if someone already occupies a position that you might like to help with. We also have various non-elected positions available for those interested, such helping with bike maintenance, social media, events organisation, plus more!
Fun stuff
Following the election we have a variety of fun activities led by various members of the coaching and volunteering team, and of course the award presentations!
Cycling quiz – we will test your cycling knowledge with prizes for the winners.
Updates from the coaching team – an update about achievements beyond the track such as regional and national race performances from PPYCC riders, and what some of our ex-members have been doing since moving on from PPYCC.
Raffle – Tickets are £1 each or £5 a strip. There are prizes galore as always. We have some amazing pro-level kit to give away this year as a result of some generous donations.
The main event is our annual Awards presentation with over 40 trophies/shields and numerous skills certificates awarded, which collectively recognise the amazing achievements of our riders. We are also presenting the SCRL Track League Youth Minor and Youth Major awards during the PPYCC presentations.
As always, some lucky awards winners also get framed jerseys to take home for the year.
Discounted kit shop the remaining PPYCC club kit is being sold at a 50% DISCOUNT, ahead of a move to a new platform for 2025. Please note that we are out of stock on some sizes as we are running down stock down prior to the supplier move.
Loads of free second hand gear. We have summer gear, winter gear and loads of pairs of cycling shoes. All completely free and we could really use reducing some of this stock so please take what you need.
And of course we’ll have a well stocked kitchen for all your tea and cake needs. Please do consider donating a homemade cake if you are able, please just bring it with you on the day.
All proceeds raised from the raffle, club kit and kitchen will go to the club. If you have your own bike for sale, you’re welcome to bring it along and find a space for it, but please be aware that the club cannot take responsibility for the security of bikes for sale.
We look forward to seeing you on the 15th!
