Strategic Plan Update: Celebrating Progress and Looking Ahead
As Ontario Cycling approaches the conclusion of its 2022–2025 Strategic Plan, we’re proud to share a snapshot of the incredible progress we’ve made together over the past four years.
With over 90% of strategic objectives achieved and nearly 80% of our 408 operational KPIs completed, this plan has driven meaningful transformation across the organization. From modernized governance and financial systems to expanded Safe Sport policies, membership growth, and youth engagement, this plan has delivered results that reflect the strength and commitment of our staff, members, and partners.
Some key highlights include:
- Full alignment with the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act and Sport Canada Governance Code.
- Launch of the Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging and Gender Equity Committees.
- Over 2,300 youth reached through 96 HopOn programs.
- 266 sanctioned events delivered across all disciplines.
- Enhanced athlete development programs and coach education initiatives.
- Expanded member supports and local partnerships, including bike shops and community hubs.
We know our work is not done. As we enter the final months of this plan, we are focused on a strong finish and addressing outstanding challenges in areas such as event growth, membership development, advocacy and broader inclusion.
Strategic Planning for 2026–2030 Is Underway
We’re excited to begin shaping the next chapter of Ontario Cycling through our new strategic plan. Community engagement is already underway, with multiple surveys having been distributed to a wide range of community groups and cycling community members—including athletes, clubs, coaches, event organizers, and club members. These insights will help shape a collective vision for the future and ensure our priorities reflect the evolving needs of Ontario’s cycling landscape.
Stay tuned for more opportunities to engage as we continue building a more inclusive, connected, and high-performing cycling culture across the province.
Together, we ride forward.
