Summer circuit season

We have a busy few weeks coming up for those that love racing on road bikes, with four local races coming up over the next few weeks, catering to all age groups.

All taking place on Friday evenings, we have the two remaining Hove Park Crits, plus two SCRL circuit races.

11th July – Hove Park Crits, Hove Park, Youth A & B – Enter here

Despite just a few entries, we had great rider feedback from those that entered the first Hove Park Crit. They loved the winding, undulating course (with a short uphill and downhill) and plenty of local support. Easy parking and a great family friendly atmosphere make this is a must for riders who want to experience a different type of racing from Preston Park Velodrome. For A & B riders only, born on 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009.

18th July – SCRL Circuits, Preston Park Velodrome, Youth C/D/ERegistration opens soon, here

The last circuit race was a great success (see the great race report from the last event here) and it would be great to get a similar number racing in the familiar environs of Preston Park again. For riders born on 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018, results will be split by two-year age category.

The final Hove Park Crit of the season. Who is the punchiest climber and demon descender?

8th August – SCRL Circuits, Preston Park Velodrome, Youth A&BRegistration opens soon, here

The last circuit race of the season for youth riders at Preston Park (apart from the Club Championships, of course). For riders born on 2012, 2011, 2010 and 2009, results will be split by two-year age category.

All youth races for A, B & C riders (under 12 and upwards) will have gear restrictions in place, so riders are riding gearing appropriate for their age category. Please speak to a Preston Park coach if you have any questions about this. There will also be coaches available at the races to support you on getting your bike ready, although it is always easier to get this set up at a Saturday session ahead of any racing to speed up the sign on process.

If you have any questions about racing, please speak to a coach or email chair@ppycc.org.uk and we will support you and your budding racer in taking the first steps.

And don’t forget, we also have racing at PP Velodrome every Wednesday on track bikes, as part of SCRL Track League!
