Call for Committee Members:

Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Advisory Committee

Ontario Cycling (OC) is seeking passionate and engaged individuals to join our Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging (DIB) Advisory Committee.

This volunteer committee plays a critical role in shaping strategies and actions that foster diversity, equity, and a sense of belonging within OC and the broader cycling community. We’re looking for voices that reflect the diversity of our sport—across roles, identities, and lived experiences.

About the DIB Steering Committee

The DIB Steering Committee is an operational and advisory group dedicated to:

• Increasing diverse participation and representation across all levels of cycling
• Creating inclusive opportunities for cyclists of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds
• Supporting OC in embedding equity, diversity, and inclusion in our strategic initiatives

Committee Composition

We are looking for up to 6 current-season members of the OC community, which may include:

• Athletes and Riders
• Community members
• Coaches
• Commissaires
• Club Presidents / Club Board Members
• Volunteers

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and a current member of Ontario Cycling for the 2025 season.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on DEI-related initiatives and strategies
• Collaborate on campaigns and events promoting belonging
• Support leadership development among underrepresented groups
• Help shape OC’s Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging Strategy

Commitment

• Minimum 4 virtual meetings per year (quarterly), with occasional additional meetings as needed
• Active participation in discussions, feedback, and collaboration via online platforms
