Watch French BMX star score disastrous 3.22 out of 100 at Paris Olympics after falling and losing shoe on first trick
BMX superstar Anthony Jeanjean completed a phenomenal turnaround to win bronze in the Olympic freestyle final following a disastrous first run.
The Frenchman was the hot favourite going into the event, but spectators were left stunned when he crashed on his very first trick.

Just THREE SECONDS into his first run, the 26-year-old slipped off his bike after attempting a difficult trick.
His shoe slipped off in the process and he was unable to continue the run.
Jeanjean scored just 3.22 out of 100 as a result, leaving him rock bottom of the rankings.
However, he bounced back with a stunning second run to put 93.76 on the board.
One of the commentators described it as a “seismic” display that “shifted tectonic plates”.
It propelled him up to second, behind Argentina’s Jose Torres Gil.
The French favourite was on course to win silver before final rider Kieran Reilly scored 93.91 to take second.
Jeanjean looked devastated to miss out on the silver and was consoled by his team.

But he appeared happier when taking to the podium to receive his Olympic medal.
Torres Gil scored an impressive 94.82 with his first run to win the event.
Reilly’s medal took Team GB’s total up to 17 with six gold, six silver and five bronze.
It was the FIFTH medal of a glittering day on Wednesday for the Brits.
Alex Yee won gold in the men’s triathlon, after Beth Potter got bronze in the women’s event.
The women’s quadruple sculls team also won gold minutes after Yee.
While Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix and Lois Toulson also scooped bronze in the women’s synchronised 10m platform diving.

The 100m men’s freestyle final could be a classic with Tokyo champ Caeleb Dressel, new 200m gold medallist David Popovici plus Brits Duncan Scott and Matthew Richards all in contention (9.15pm).
And Jessica Fox could win her second gold of Paris 2024 if she defends her C1 canoe slalom from three years ago (4.25pm).
