Super clyde - Interested in road bikes

Im a super clyde (160kg) who has routinely dabbled in MTB and at present have my trusty Marin.
However where i live now Road cycling is pretty much the second sport of the country and many people i train with (crossfit) cycle as part of their training regimen.
