Where to for first day to get on the Willamette Valley Bikeway?

I will arriving in Portland around 10:30AM. I plan to pic the bike up at REI Portland. I have used them before and they did a good job. But any suggestions for another bike shop are welcome. I would just like it to be near the commuter rail that come in from the airport.
