Tuesday 19th October 21 – 7:30pm – Round Five
Time-Control: 45 minutes + 15 minutes increments

RESULTS – Round 5

Division One – Group C

Dundee City A (2157) 0 – 4 (2422) Chessable White Rose 1

When you are a good side but still out gunned and out played against the top side in the group, sometimes you just have to take it on the chin! Great effort by Jacques Ophoff CM, David Findlay, Declan Shafi & Stephen Hogg, but wow!

Division Three – Group C

Dundee City B (1851) 4 – 0 (1414) Harrow 3

Never easy with such a big grading difference, especially after losing their first game two weeks ago, but Dundee City B showed their class and mental strength to win 4 nil against bottom side Harrow 3. This keeps them top of the group on 8 points, but two teams sit on their coattails on 7 points, so still all to do!

Well played Richard Kynoch, Andre Babin, Alastair Dawson & Euan Dawson!

Division Five – Swiss League (56 teams)

Dundee City C (1750) 4 – 0 (1361) Downend2

Good result is a banana skin game, especially after dropping a point in their last match! This puts Dundee City C in 10th place in the table on 7 points, 3 behind the leaders with 2 rounds to go. You never know!

Well played Dariusz Kosznik, Graham Mooney, James Anderson & Ray Flood!

Dundee City D (1522) 3½ – ½ (1371) Manaccan Maulers
Dundee City D bounced back well from their defeat two weeks ago, and showed they have the skill to beat anybody in this division! Dundee City D sit in 18th place in the table on 6 points, just 1 point behind Dundee City C!

Well played Leyton Hackney, Rishi Vijayakumar J9, Peter Sallai and John Robertson Jnr who was winning but blundered and looked a little ropy until his opponent kindly returned the favour and John breathed a sigh of relief!

All in all a good nights chess for Dundee City teams! With two rounds left still time for anything to happen and it usually does!

Round 6 is on Tuesday 2nd November 21.
