Said NFLPA spokesman George Atallah in response, also on Twitter: “NFLPA’s Rookie Premiere is more than a photo in the new team gear. You either don’t know that (which is hard to believe since you’re so smart) or you’re just being obtuse. 2. The CBA has dictated this rule since our union has had Rookie Premiere.”
Teams are required to allow the players to attend the Rookie Premiere if they want Josh Sitton Jersey , and it makes sense that the players can’t choose both to not attend and to stay behind and work out at the team facility. Such a “voluntary” act would be every bit as “voluntary” as the “voluntary” offseason workouts.
And regardless of what happens, the Rookie Premiere is indeed baked into the CBA. For a sport that makes it hard for players to market themselves individually, there’s nothing wrong with taking a weekend to put on their new uniforms and pose for photos that will end up on trading cards and elsewhere.
Colts owner Jim Irsay recently said he wouldn’t trade backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett, even for a first-round pick. Which means he certainly wouldn’t trade Brissett for a second-round pick. But he reportedly had the chance.
The Seahawks offered the Colts a second-round pick for Brissett but were turned down Harrison Phillips Jersey , according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.
That’s an odd report: The Seahawks have Russell Wilson at quarterback, and he’s started all 16 games for all six of his seasons in Seattle. Why give up a second-round pick for a player who might never see the field?
The answer may be that Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer was the Colts’ quarterbacks coach last year, and Schottenheimer loves Brissett. If Schottenheimer has been raving about Brissett in Seattle, he may have convinced the higher-ups that Brissett would be worth trading for.
The Colts Sam Acho Jersey , however, are apparently unwilling to do it. Brissett is slated to continue backing up Andrew Luck, rather than backing up Wilson.
