51st Biel Chess Festival 2018 - Games and Results
The 51st Biel Chess Festival took place Sun 22nd July (Round 1) to Wed 1st Aug 2018. World Champion Magnus Carlsen heads a strong field of Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Peter Svidler, David Navara and Nico Georgiadis. 6 players 10 rounds. Shakhriyar Mamedayarov took clear first place defeating World Champion Magnus Carlsen in round 9 to clinch it. Carlsen won his first couple of rounds but then had to wait until the final round for his third win against Georgiadis who blundered in a better position.
