Garry Kasparov is fading away in Putin's Russia

Until his retirement from the professional game in 2005, Garry Kasparov was widely considered to be the greatest chess player of all time. Banished from Russia, now living in New York, Kasparov once launched a presidential campaign against Vladimir Putin but fled the country for fear of political persecution. He is now the chairman of a New York based Human Rights Foundation.
