Anthony Davis Broke His Silence About Luka Trade to Lakers in a Big Way
Following the mega trade last February, NBA star Anthony Davis has largely maintained his silence about the entire situation.
In a move that stunned the basketball world and beyond, the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Doncic, Markieff Morris, and Max Kleber from the Dallas Mavericks. To finalize the deal, the Lakers sent Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round selection to Dallas.
Davis shared his perspective on the aftermath of the transaction during a conversation with Draymond Green, the Golden State Warriors star, on The Draymond Green Show.
What Did Anthony Davis Say About the Trade?
“Even though I didn’t understand it from my view, I understood it as far as trade like Luka is f****** Luka,” he told Green. “Like you see what he’s doing now. Luka at that time was 26, I was 31, 32, so I’m like, from the business standpoint, I can’t be mad. But like, why? I just couldn’t fathom, I just couldn’t understand it, and nobody told me nothing.”
“Nobody said a thing to me, so you catching me off guard,” he continued. “That’s what I couldn’t get over, and I still couldn’t get over. I think I deserved much more respect for what…all the time I’ve been here, I was there for six years, we won a championship and I can’t get a phone call or text that tell me, ‘Look, this is what we’re thinking?’”
While Luka remains with the Lakers, AD, D'Angelo Russell, Dante Exum, and Jaden Hardy were traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Washington Wizards in exchange for Khris Middleton, Marvin Bagley III, AJ Johnson, and several draft picks in the future.
LeBron James And Anthony Davis Trick Draymond Green
For his latest TBS venture, Foul Play with Anthony Davis, AD teamed up with future Hall of Famer LeBron James to execute an epic prank on none other than Draymond Green.
As part of the hoax, Draymond Green was led into a meeting by his representative, Rich Paul, where a group of actors masquerading as investors began pushing him toward a hypothetical investment worth $100 million.
In the footage, a visibly agitated Green exchanged heated words with Paul and the investors. Reaching a breaking point, Green threatened, “I’m going to leave here, because I will f*** you up,” adding, “I’ll punch you in your f****** nose, b****”. As Green’s outburst intensified, James and Davis intervened, rushing into the room to stop the confrontation hilariously before he could act on his threats.
The full episode is on theTBS website.
TBS describes the show as having a “lockeroom dynamic.”
“Athletes from all sports pull pranks on their oblivious teammates and sports-world friends. They do this with an assist from the creative team behind Impractical Jokers and an ensemble cast of writers/performers who help them see the prank through from the opening tip-off to the final buzzer.”
