Coca-Cola and Wingstop Join Forces To Create New Drink Flavor — But There’s a Catch
If you're like Ryan Coogler and you like to "get involved" with Coca-Cola Freestyle machine flavors, you're in luck — as Wingstop is collaborating with the soda drinks giant to create a brand new drink.
The new Sprite Loco Lime, also available in a Zero sugar version, combines classic Sprite flavor with Coca-Cola's other drinks, Fanta Lime and Minute Maid Limeade, to create a new twist that's cool and refreshing for the warmer weather ahead.
The new drink is part of the Citrus Mojo flavor launch, introduced nationwide across Wingstop's chain from April 7. The food flavoring "combines zesty citrus with savory garlic and herbs for a flavor that hits with a fresh, vibrant kick," according to a press release by Wingstop.
"After a long winter, fans are craving brighter, more refreshing flavors – but they still expect the bold impact that only Wingstop can deliver," the statement continued. "Citrus Mojo was crafted to celebrate both, balancing citrus and herb-forward notes with the craveable intensity that defines Wingstop’s flavor lineup. The result is an iconic flavor that brings a taste of tropical escape, no travel required."
There is one catch for the complimentary drinks flavor, described by the business as a "bold, citrus-driven blend." The drink is only available at Wingstop locations with Coca-Cola Freestyle dispensers — for the uninitiated, these are the self-serve drinks machines where you can combine classic Coca-cola brand drinks with a number of different, often fruity, flavors.

Food reviewers and vloggers on social media described the Citrus Mojo wings and Sprite Loco Lime drink as having a unique flavor compared to Wingstop's classic offerings. Tiktok food critic Redneck Snack gave both a 10/10 score, comparing the fruit fusions favorably to a sports drink like limeade, with the wing flavor offering a "citrusy" take on the beloved garlic and herb flavor.
Similarly, Instagram blogger snackwithzach called the new offering an "evolved" take on the fan favorite lemon pepper flavor, thanks to its citrus base. The foodie went on to describe the snack as "herbaceous" with a "touch of sweetness", including hints of tropical fruit, yet also "buttery."
"It sounds strange, but it works!" Zach said.
