UFC Fight Night 250 live updates: Results, round-by-round coverage of every fight

UFC Fight Night 250 took place Saturday, and MMA Junkie provided live round-by-round coverage and official results throughout the event. UFC Fight Night 250 (ESPN+) took place at ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya tried to snap a two-fight skid when he took on Nassourdine Imavov in the main event. Shara Magomedov attempted to stay unbeaten against ex-Bellator standout Michael Page in the 185-pound co-feature.

Israel Adesanya vs. Nassourdine Imavov

Round 1 – They quickly meet in the center and Adesanya gets to work with a series of kicks. Imavov answers with a kick of his own, but Adesanya fires a few more. They trade punches upstairs. Imavov rushes forward with punchs into a takedown attempt, but he can’t get Adesanya to the mat. The crowd chants for Adesanya as he comes foward with punches. Imavov’s body lock is shaken off. A snappy jab for Adesanya. Imavov blitzes forward again, but doesn’t land. Adesanya gets Thai clinch, but Imavov quickly works out of it. Imavov lands a clean shovel right hand. He charges forward to follow-up, but Adesanya offers counters to keep him honest. Now Imavov looks for the takedown again, but can’t get it. Question mark kick for Adesanya, followed by a body kick.

MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for Adesanya.

Round 2 – Adesanya opens with a leg kic and a punch to the body. A punch upstairs follows. More quick punches but an eye poke causes Adesanya to briefly pause, but he doesn’t want the break and the fight continues. Imavov blasts Adesanya with a punch and he’s rocked! Down goes Adesanya! Imavov swarms with big ground and pound from the back as Adesanya covers up. That’s it! What a huge finish for Imavov!

Shara Magomedov vs. Michael Page

Round 1 – They touch ’em up, and Page immediately gets to his signature bladed karate stance. They trade fast leg kicks. Magomedov lands a couple more as the crowd chants his name. Page darts in with a jab. Magomedov goes high with a kick. Page darts in with a punch and pushes Magomedov to the ground. Another darting punch from Page, but he stumbles after, leading to a clinch along the fence. Nothing comes of it, and they return to the center. More leg kicks are exchanged. Page punches to the body. A moment later, Page lunges in for a two-punch combo. Magomedov gives him a thumbs up. Magomedov lands a side kick to the body. Page answers with a leg. They exchange wild strikes, including a spinning kick from Page in the closing moments.

Round 2 – Page comes foward with a right hand. A jumping kick to the body follows. Page darts in with a big right hand a moment later. A wheel kick from Page is blocked. Page’s feints have Magomedov hesitant to pull the trigger. Page connects with a right hand as Magomedov finds home for a kick. Page leaps in with a knee with a punch behind it. Now the crowd chants “MVP.” Page is having fun now as he circles on the outside. A spinning back fist just misses the target for him. Magomedov tries for a Thai clinch, but Page quickly gets double unders. Page looks for an elbow on the exit.

MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for Page.

Round 3 – Magomoedov comes out with a hard leg kick. Page pops his head back with a counter punch. Magomedov offers a wild spinning attack, but ends up just spinning. Page lands a right. More feints and action on the outside from Page. Magomedov lands a couple of kicks to the legs and Page lands another left hand. Flying knee to the head from Page, but he doesn’t get all of it. They clinch up briefly. Page gets back to his tricky movements on the outside. Page lands a punch. Now Magomedov turns up the pressure with strikes. Another leaping knee attempt from Page misses. He then goes for a spinning kick, falls to the ground, but lands a couple of upkicks before the horn.

Sergei Pavlovich vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik

Round 1 – No glove touch here as the final heavyweight fight gets underway. Rozenstruik connects with a pair of leg kicks to start the action. Pavlovich lands a hard right hand. Rozenstruik responds with a left kick to the body. Pavlovich darts forward with a combination, but Rozenstruik dips and circles to evade. They trade punches upstairs. A moment later, Pavlovich connects with a clean punch. Another overhand right from Pavlovich sees Rozenstruik dip under, but Pavlovich’s forward momentum makes Rozenstruik sort of pull guard. Rozenstruik does his best to prevent damage from the bottom.

MMA Junkie scores the round 10-9 for Pavlovich.

Round 2 – Pavlovich lands a front kick to the body. The crowd beginss to boo at the slow action as they stand in front of each other feinting. Rozenstruik pops a jab. Pavlovich responds with a quick combo. The referee asks the fighters to pick up the action. Pavlovich obliges and connects with a glancing right hand that put Rozenstruik on the canvas. Pavlovich rushes in to take top half. Short, stay-busy punches from the top for Pavlovich as Rozenstruik keeps him locked in closely. More boos after the horn sounds.

Round 3 – Pavlovich lands a left hand. Within the first minute, the referee claps for more action again. Rozenstruik lands a left. Pavlovich responds with one of his own, and gets a body lock takedown. Pavlovich works with more short punches from the top as Rozenstruik shows no urgency to improve the position. Despite Pavlovich punching, boos are still heard from the crowd. There’s 90 seconds left. Pavlovich stays heavy on top, punching to the body and head to stay busy. Rozenstruik attempts to explode with a minute left. He’s up with 30 seconds left. Pavlovich lands a hard punch. Rozenstruik goes for it in the final 10 seconds, but can’t land anything.

Said Nurmagomedov vs. Vinicius Oliveira

Round 1 – Oliveira takes the center and begins with a few punches and kicks. Nurmagomedov circles and fires back with a hard kick to the body that knocks Oliveira to the ground. Nurmagomedov lets up him, and then digs in a hard leg kick. Fantastic kicks with his feet early here. Oliviera closes in for a takedown, but a choke counter is there. Oliveira gets out, and then returns to forward pressure with strikes. Nurmagomedov nearly completes a takedown, but Oliveira scrambles to his feet, keeping the clinch. An eye poke from Oliveira on the exit pauses the fight momentarily. Back to action, and Nurmagomedov lands a head kick. They throw strikes at the same time, but end up clashing heads and Oliveira stumbles backward. Nurmagomedov looks to capitalize but gets taken down. Oliveira maintains control throughout the scramble until the horn.

Round 2 – Oliveira comes out aggressively with heavy strikes. Nurmagomedov changes levels, but can’t get the takedown. The clinch goes to the fence. They work their way out of it, but soon clinched again. This time though, Oliveira gets a takedown from it. Nurmagomedov scrambles up and narrowly evades a spinning elbow on the exit. Oliveira keeps coming forward with hard punches. Nurmagomedov attempts to signal for an eye poke, but the referee didn’t see it, and Oliveira keeps punching. Nurmagomedov deals with it, eventually finding the takedown entry. Oliveira defends it well and gets back to connecting with big, looping punches. Nurmagomedov appears fatigued now as Oliveira keeps coming forward, swinging wildly.

Round 3 – Oliveira gets right back into it, just winging punches in Nurmagomedov’s direction. They end up on the ground with Oliveira punching from the top. Nurmagomedov gets a hold of a leg and tries to scramble, but Oliveira maintains top position well. Oliveira slaps on a D’arce choke, but the finish isn’t there. Punches to the body for Oliveira now. Nurmagomedov gets back to his feet. Oliveira keeps striking with wild punches and a spinning kick. Nurmagomedov shoots in, but is easily stuffed. Oliveira keeps a favorable position until the fight concludes.

Mike Davis vs. Fares Ziam

Round 1 – Davis comes out aggressively with punches and looks for an early takedown. Ziam stuffs, and Davis pulls guard. They don’t stay on the mat long as Davis works back to his feet, but as he stays in the clinch, he pulls guard again. Back to their feet quickly again. Ziam lands a clean punch before they clinch along the fence. Ziam starts ripping fast punches, connecting cleanly. Ziam pops Davis’ head back again. Davis looks for the takedown, and gets one with a nice lift and immediate back take. Ziam looks to scramble, but Davis floats into full mount. Ziam prevents severe damage as he works back to guard before the horn.

Round 2 – Davis once again closes distance quickly and eats a knee from Ziam as he looks for the takedown. They clinch up and wrestle for position along the fence. Ziam slices open a cut on Davis with a knee. Davis keeps with the clinch, but Ziam lifts him high and carries Davis to the center of the cage. Davis drops a 12-6 elbow before getting dumped. Davis attacks the ankle, and then locks in a calf slicer. Somehow, Ziam is just rolling with it as Davis tries to advance. Ziam’s flexibility and/or tolerance for pain is wild as this looks like a nasty position, but he gets his leg free and scrambles to top position. Blood from Davis has painted the canvas. Ziam postures up for some heavy ground and pound before the round ends.

Round 3 – Ziam’s shorts were white to begin this fight, believe it or not. He gets a takedown as Davis appears to have slowed down. North-south position for Ziam as he punches to the body. Now it’s side control, and then Ziam opts to stand up and punch the downed Davis. Ziam grabs an anacoda choke as Davis tries to work up, but it’s not there. Back on the feet now, Ziam lands a hard step-in elbow and a takedown follows a moment after. Davis looks for a heel hook, but Ziam slips out. Davis scambles to top position and slices open a nasty cut on Ziam in the closing seconds! He’s trying to pour on the damage, but there’s simply not enough time on the clock.

Muhammad Naimov vs. Kaan Ofli

Round 1 – After some feeling out, Ofli hits Naimov in the groin. A timeout is called and referee Marc Goddard warns Ofli. The action resumes. The fighters trade leg kicks. It appears Naimov kicks harder. Ofli did not like that one. They clinch. Ofli shoves Naimov against the fence. Naimov reverses Ofli against the fence. They separate. Ofli gets aggressive and Naimov comes over the top with a right hand. Naimov then drops Ofli with a punch. It was more of a knockdown than a disorienting punch, it seems. Ofli immediately got back up and reverses Naimov against the fence. The round ends. 10-9 Naimov.

Round 2 – Ofli is maintaining his aggressive approach despite being dropped once in Round 1. They trade in the pocket and Naimov comes out looking slightly wobbled. Ofli grabs hold of him and shoves him into the fence. They break and Naimov lands a good combination. Moments later, Naimov takes Ofli down. He moves to side control. Ofli works back to his feet and pushes Naimov against the cage once again. They separate. Ofli is on the pursuit. The horn sounds. 20-18 Naimov.

Round 3 – Naimov tries a spinning kick, which gets oohs and aahs out of the crowd, though it didn’t appear that effective. Ofli grabs hold of Naimov, who tosses him to the ground and immediately enters mount. Naimov is taking advantage of the recent Unified Rules change, as he rains down 12-to-6 elbows onto Ofli, who gives up his back. Naimov is working from the back with the body triangle locked. Ofli is doing enough to fend off danger. Ofli scoots out and they’re against the cage. Ofli lands a multipunch combination on Naimov’s head and body. That was nice, but with 60 seconds left he’ll need much more of that. Ofli instead elects to tie Naimov against the fence. They separate and Ofli lands more. Naimov is on his bicycle. Shamil Gaziev vs. Thomas Petersen

Round 1 – Both men are patient. They’re feeling one another out. Petersen shoots for a takedown but Gaziev pops right back up and smiles. Petersen throws a leg kick. Gaziev hits him with two straight rights. Gaziev connects on a big right hand and that’s it! Walkoff knockout for Gaziev. Wow.

Damir Hadzovic vs. Terrance McKinney

Round 1 – McKinney comes out like a bat out of hell, swinging at Hadzovic. Hadzovic scrambling away but McKinney continues to charge with punches and kicks. McKinney gets Hadzovic down and threatens a guillotine. McKinney is in mount and he’s pounding away. Hadzovic seems stuck. He can’t escape. And that’s it! McKinney with a mauling. What an impressive performance from T-Wrecks. He’s live-by-the-sword, die-by-the-sword and tonight he lived.

Jasmine Jasudavicius vs. Mayra Bueno Silva

Round 1 – The lone women’s fight on the card is up next – the first female UFC bout in Saudi Arabia. Both women come out aggressive.  Bueno Silva throws a big combination. They tie up. Jasudavicius is warned by Mark Smith about grabbing the face in the clinch. Jasudavicius rushes in and Bueno Silva snatches a guillotine. Bueno Silva adjusts here grip. Jasudavicius tries posturing up and she breaks the grip. Now, Jasudavicius is Bueno Silva’s guard. Bueno Silva threatens an armbar and Jasudavicius passes. Jasudavicius is in the crucifix. Bueno Silva gets out and threatens a leg submission as the round ends. 10-9 Jasudavicius.

Round 2 – Jasudavicius gets somewhat careless again in her takedown attempt and Bueno Silva threatens the neck again. Jasudavicius escapes without hitting the ground. They separate. Bueno Silva rips the body and jabs. There’s some solid swelling over Bueno Silva’s left eye. Jasudavicius punches her right on the hematoma. They clinch and separate. Bueno Silva complains to referee Mark Smith about a hair pull. Smith barks back to keep fighting. Bueno Silva lands a couple good punches. Jasudavicius shoots and takes her down. Bueno Silva is complaining about something from the bottom. Bueno Silva working for a kneebar from the bottom. Jasudavicius fends off those attempts and dives in for some ground-and-pound. 20-18 Jasudavicius.

Round 3 – Bueno Silva gets aggressive early. She grabs hold of Jasudavicius and throws a jumping elbow and punch. Bueno Silva moves forward aggressively. Jasudavicius trying to circle and reset. Bueno Silva lands a big elbow. Jasudavicius misses a knee. They clinch and Jasudavicius finally connects on the knee she’s been looking for. Seconds later, Jasudavicius shoots for, and secures, a takedown. With three minutes left in the round (and the fight), Jasudavicius is on top in half guard. Jasudavicius passes to mount and appears to be seeking an arm-triangle choke. Bueno Silva bucks out of the submission but is still mounted. Bueno Silva rolls to her side and slips into half guard as Jasudavicius lands short ground-and-pound punches. Bueno Silva threatens a submission and Jasudavicius passes. The horn sounds. Lucas Alexander vs. Bogdan Grad

Round 1 – After some Grad cage-grinding, Alexander threatens a massive knee. Grad goes back on the grapple-heavy attack. He cracks Alexander with a punch and shoots for a takedown. Grad leaning on Alexander against the fence. Alexander reverses Grad and gets him down. Alexander is standing over the grounded Grad. Now Grad scrambles for a double leg. He semi-gets it, but Alexander reverses him. Alexander standing over Grad once again. He’s landing short little kicks. Back on the feet, Grad is eating some shots. He rushes in and Alexander catches him with a hook. Grad follows through with his takedown attempt, though. Grad leaning on Alexander against the cage. 10-9 Alexander.

Round 2 – Chopping leg kicks by Alexander early. Grad is struggling to defend Alexander’s strikes. Alexander “oles” the bull as he shoves Grad aside. Grad catches and Alexander kick and knocks him down with a punch. Grad is in half guard. Wow. Grad mounts Alexander and lands some ground-and-pound. Alexander shoves him back into half guard. Grad is back in full mount and he’s landing big elbows and punches. Referee Kerry Hatley is warning Alexander, who seems stuck. Grad pounding away – and Hatley steps in! Wow. Solid comeback by Grad, who looked like he was on his way to a frustrating loss. Instead, he gets his first UFC win.

Hamdy Abdelwahab vs. Jamal Pogues

Round 1 – Leg kicks clash as the big men collide legs. There’s some squishing up against the cage already. Now they separate. Not a lot of volume for either guy. Pogues is a little more active. His jab is finding success. It’s hard to tell if these guys have slowed are just being cautious. Even for heavyweights, this pace seems to be slow for Round 1. The round ends. 10-9 Pogues.

Round 2 – Pogues is staying on the outside, landing leg kicks and jabs. Abdelwahab is pushing the pace but hasn’t been able to mount much of any offense. Pogues tries to go high with a kick. They trade calf kicks. Pogues lands another leg kick – and another. Abdelwahab connects with a leg hand. There’s more volume coming from Abdelwahab now, but still the same level of connection. Pogues connects on a straight right just as the horn sounds. Closer round, but 20-18 Pogues.

Round 3 – They trade jabs in the pocket. Abdelwahab rips a body kick, which is caught by Pogues. Pogues returns with a head kick but Abdelwahab just eats it. A leg kick battle resumes. Both men are sucking wind. Pogues connects on a nice one-two-punch combination. Abdelwahab connects on a leg kick. Pogues starts firing punches and asks for the “Max Holloway moment”, but the two high-five instead. Pogues throws a couple bombs that whiff right before the final horn.
