Meliboev and Mardonov have opponents named for debuts!

Back in December we reported that Uzbek hopefuls Fazliddin Meliboev (0-0) and Kozumbek Mardonov (0-0) had had thei debuts pencilled in for late January on a show in Miami. At that point in time there was no idea of who they would be facing.
Today that changed with the opponents of both men being reported by Sports.Uz.
Meliboev, a former stand out who won a silver medal at the 2019 Uzbek National Championships and went unbeaten in the WSB, will be up against unbeaten puncher Javonn Davis (3-0-1, 3).
The 23 year old Davis made his professional debut in 2019 and has scored 3 early wins, all in the second round, though those wins have come against fighters without a win to their name. The one time he shared the ring with a fighter had scored a win he was held to a 4 round draw.
This bout will be a 6 round Welterweight bout,
Mardonov, also scheduled in a 6 rounder, is set to face Chown Sims (5-1, 2), who is more proven than Davis and has been matched relatively well for such a novice prospect. Sims will, however, be regarded as the under-dog against his Uzbek opponent who won the 2019 Military Games games in Wuhan and is regarded as one to watch over the coming years.
This bout is expected to be fought at Super Middleweight.
