Vitor Belfort says he’s fighting Uriah Hall in January

UFC middleweight Vitor Belfort announced on Instagram that he’s agreed to fight Uriah Hall.

Following his first win since November 2015, former UFC champion Vitor Belfort appears to have his next fight lined up for January 2018.

The 40-year-old wrote on Instagram that he’s accepted a fight with fellow striker Uriah Hall for a yet-to-be announced UFC card on January 14th.

“I just signed my bout agreement for January 14th at UFC,” Belfort said. “I always looked for big challenges and in my last UFC fight it couldn’t be different…[Uriah Hall] it’s a honor to share the cage with a such young and talented fighter. Thanks for accepting the fight!”

Belfort (26-13, 1 NC) snapped a three-fight winless stretch with a unanimous decision over Nate Marquardt at UFC 212. It marked the first time since 2007 that he’d won by decision, or indeed gone the distance at all. After indications were made that he’d retire, Belfort reversed course and said that he still has several fights left on his UFC contract, and that he wishes to continue his career.

Hall (13-8) is coming off a come-from-behind TKO vs. Krzysztof Jotko at UFC Pittsburgh in September. He’d previously been on a three-fight losing streak, albeit against top competition in the form of Robert Whittaker, Derek Brunson, and Gegard Mousasi. All but one of Hall’s six UFC wins have come by TKO.

The current UFC rankings place Hall at #10 and Belfort at #11 in the 185-pound division.
