What would YOU name your horse?

Saturday is the 2017 Preakness, and during the buildup to the race, we asked Twitter users what they would name their racehorse if they owned one. We got a few responses and most fit these general categories. Here are just a few highlights:

Standard names, but good names nonetheless

These are some good people names, but they don’t necessarily make me want to place a bet on them for a race. The only Todd I will actively root for probably works in human resources and is working on getting a company more benefits for the new year. Sorry Todd, the racehorse.

These horses could win, based on their names

How can you root against a horse named Pretty Good. Unless there’s a horse in the race named Winner or The Best, Pretty Good seems like a safe bet. I say place a reasonable bet on this competitor.

On second thought, He’s the Fastest could be the fastest. This is harder than I initially thought. At least I won’t be placing a bet on Lasty, or maybe that’s what they want me to think.

Sports-themed names

Don’t let this horse winning the race remind you that the Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

I hope Cash Considerations and The Option to Swap Second-Round Picks compete in a race one day.

Horsey McHorseFace

Because, of course.
