Kentucky Oaks day results 2017: Birdsong takes the Alysheba
A full day of graded stakes races is set for Friday at Churchill Downs before the running of the Kentucky Oaks. Follow along with us!
The Kentucky Oaks will be held at 6:12 p.m. ET Friday, live from Churchill Downs. But before the fillies run their version of the Kentucky Derby, a whole day’s worth of horse racing action is scheduled.
You can follow the Kentucky Oaks day action live, streaming it from NBC Sports Live Extra or on NBCSN on your television from noon to 3 p.m. and 5 to 6:30 p.m. (You’ll find the West Ham vs. Tottenham soccer match if you check in between.)
The Grade 1 Oaks, which is run a mile and 1/8 and features a prize of $600,000 to the winner and a total purse of $1 million, may be the day’s key event. Due to some really wet weather that has been sitting over the Midwest and Southeast for the past few days, the track at Churchill Downs is a bit muddy, which should only add to the intrigue.
