Raptors injury news: Immanuel Quickley out for Game 2

0 11

Some terrible news ahead of Game 2. Toronto’s starting point guard remains out.

We at RR, as well as many Raptors fans, were scratching our heads, wondering why Walter was left out of the starting line-up in Game 1.

As Ian Finlayson alluded to, Ja’Kobe Walter is a much more effective spacer than Jamal Shead. “Walter’s had success guarding Mitchell this season, is a better shooter than Shead and even passed better than the Raptors backup point guard in Game 1 (though that isn’t the norm).”

The Raptors were tested in Game 1 and got punched in the mouth. There are no roster changes today. It will be another test to see whether the Raptors adjust and punch back. Starting Walter in lieu of Shead could potentially mean that they rely on the sophomore and Scottie Barnes to contain Cleveland’s dynamic backcourt in Donovan Mitchell and James Harden.
