New coach Bryan Hodgson continues to build his roster after taking over at the Big East school upon leaving South Florida.
Providence on Tuesday added a pledge from FAU transfer guard Devin Vanterpool, a 6-foot-4 sophomore who averaged 15.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.4 assists while shooting 44% from the field and 35% from deep.
Hodgson previously added former Westchester Knicks guard Dink Pate, San Diego State transfer wing Miles Byrd and USF transfer guard Gavin Hightower.
Sophomore guard Ryan Mela, who averaged 9.9 points and 5.3 rebounds, is the only key returner from last season.
