Bryan Hodgson to players: ‘You will regret leaving Providence College’
BY ALEJANDRO LOPEZ
Providence’s new head coach has made a promise to any player looking to transfer out of the program.
“If you leave here, if you leave Providence basketball, I promise you in about four-five months you are going to regret that decision because we are going to do something here,” new head coach Bryan Hodgson told reporters on Tuesday.
Hodgson made it clear he intends to re-recruit players within the program, although some of the players from this year’s team such as freshman sharpshooter Stefan Vaaks have already announced their intention to enter the transfer portal.
“We are going to be on the National stage and we are going to compete to win the BIG EAST right away,” Hodgson continued. “We are going to compete to win more than the BIG EAST right away. We are going to play in the NCAA Tournament and we are going to compete at the highest level I promise you that.”
Other key players such as Jamier Jones and Oswin Erhunmwunse still have decisions to make on their futures.
