T.J. Watt’s perfect ‘Peanut Punch’ in Raiders-Steelers led to a Pittsburgh TD

0 3

The Steelers reached the end zone against the Raiders thanks in large part to a perfect ‘Peanut Punch’ from T.J. Watt

One of the AFC’s most storied rivalries is being renewed this Sunday, as the Las Vegas Raiders host the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6 action.

So far, the game has been something of a defensive struggle. While the Raiders built a 7-6 lead, holding the Steelers to just a pair of field goals, Justin Fields and company were able to tack on a touchdown before halftime. While their ensuing two-point conversion failed, Pittsburgh hods a 12-7 lead at the break.

They also have T.J. Watt to thank in large part for that touchdown as the standout Steelers defender gifted the Pittsburgh offense tremendous field position, thanks to a perfectly executed “Peanut Punch.”

With the Raiders facing 2nd and 7 in their own territory, Las Vegas ran a toss play to the right side with Dylan Laube. However, the rookie coughed up the football, and Pittsburgh recovered:

The reason for the fumble? This incredible “Peanut Punch” from Watt. Watch as the Pittsburgh defender lands a tremendous right jab on the football, knocking it loose from the rookie running back:

Pittsburgh took over on the Raiders’ 30-yard line, and six plays later they were in the end zone.

And Watt wasn’t done. Another perfect punch early in the fourth quarter forced a Raiders turnover in the red zone.

Somewhere Charles Tillman, now with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is smiling.
