Knicks signing and trading Shake Milton as part of Mikal Bridges trade

Given the recent trades of Mikal Bridges and Dejounte Murray, it would likely take multiple first-round picks for the Wizards to consider trading Kuzma, league sources told HoopsHype. -via HoopsHype / July 2, 2024

The leaguewide belief is that the Jazz would only consider moving Markkanen for a sizable trade package similar to what the Knicks gave up to acquire Mikal Bridges – a player Utah tried to acquire and pair with Markkanen. For context, New York overwhelmed the market for Bridges, who has two years on his contract, by agreeing to trade four unprotected first-round picks, an unprotected pick swap, and a protected first-round pick. As the Knicks wait to make their big offseason moves official — namely the blockbuster Mikal Bridges trade — Donte DiVincenzo focused on the culture and coach the Knicks already have in place to carry them through any changes. “Whatever team we have, I think we’re going to be very good,” DiVincenzo said. “No matter what happens the rest of the offseason, I think overall everybody is going to come back and get better. Ian Begley: As noted entering free agency, NYK had very little interest in trading Miles McBride. In addition to today’s Milton/Diakite deal, Knicks, entering free agency, had at least 1 other deal lined up to avoid hard cap. When they made initial Bridges trade, they felt they’d be able to avoid the hard cap at first apron. Yossi Gozlan: Shake Milton can get up to a $3.1 million starting salary from the Knicks via his Non Bird rights.
