Portaling: Maliq Brown To Visit This Week
The former Syracuse star would bring some useful skills to Durham.
We admit we didn't see this one coming: Syracuse transfer candidate Malik Brown will be visiting Duke from Wednesday to Friday, according to On3.com’s Joe Tipton.
He made a big impression in Durham this winter with a terrific game against the Blue Devils. Here’s what we said at the time:
“Brown ended up playing 33 minutes and he shot 11-16 including several all-too-easy dunks inside, shooting 11-16 with the vast majority of those shots fairly close to the basket.
“In the second half, he had some easy attempts because [Kyle] Filipowski had picked up a couple of early fouls in the first and was careful not to draw a third after sitting for much of the first.”
Brown averaged 9.5 ppg for Syracuse this year and shot nearly 70 percent from the floor and 36.8 percent from behind the line. He also averaged 7.2 rpg and 2.2 steals.
Obviously it’s too early to know anything but we’ll have a better idea soon.
