[Men's Ice Hockey] 2023 Men's Hockey Honors Released

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - (COMPLETE HONORS) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released the conference honors for men's hockey. First and second team All-Conference was announced with six players on each team, including the individual award winners.

Brendan West of UM-Dearborn was selected as Player of the Year after he led the league with 30 goals and had 36 assists.Bailey Byrd, also from UM-Dearborn picked up Newcomer of the Year after recording 25 goals.

Head coaches voted Frank DiCristofaro of Indiana Tech as Coach of the Year. Chris Haltinner of UM-Dearborn was named Champions of Character Coach.

In addition to All-Conference awards, the WHAC also released its All-Academic and Champions of Character honors. The All-Academic Team consists of juniors or above in academic standing with a cumulative 3.25 GPA who have been in attendance at their school for one full year. The Champions of Character Team is comprised of one player from each school who best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.
