[Women's Tennis] Women's Tennis Honors Released
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - (Complete Awards) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its 2022 Women's Tennis Honors in conjunction with the league's tournament.
Indiana Tech's Vero Jimenez repeated as Player of the Year after posting a 9-2 singles record. She also posted a 10-2 doubles record with Semmie Moore. Newcomer of the Year went to Olga Aliagas Mejina of Lawrence Tech as she posted a 11-6 record in her freshman season.
Cornerstone head coach Elijah Yi was awarded Coach of the Year and the coaches voted Lourdes head coach Epifani Jones as the sport's Champion of Character Coach.
In addition to First Team All-Conference, the WHAC also announced its All-Academic Team (juniors or above in academic standing with cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and in attendance at nominating school for one full year) and the Champions of Character Team (best represents the five core character values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership).
