How to watch Warriors vs. Rockets

The Golden State Warriors will play their 9th game of the season against the Houston Rockets tonight at 5:30pm. The game will be played in San Francisco and can be seen on NBC Sports Bay Area.

The Warriors are currently on a 3-game winning streak. It was strength in numbers that got the job done in their most recent game as several players contributed to the 126-85 win against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday. On the other hand, the Rockets are on a 7-game losing streak after blowing a late lead to the Denver Nuggets, 94-95.

This once heated rivalry between Golden State and Houston has lost some of its shine recently with the Warriors having to reload their roster and the Rockets opting to rebuild. The Warriors won all 3 games against the Rockets last season with the latest game being played on May 1, 2021 and resulting in a Golden State win, 113-87.

Although it seems like the Warriors should win this one easily, they shouldn’t take it for granted because it has all the makings of a trap game. The Warriors are coming off a big team win, and the Rockets are coming off a heartbreaking close loss. This will be the first game of a back-to-back for the Warriors, while the Rockets are on the second game of a back-to-back. With the Warriors tendency to be careless with the ball, and the Rockets leading the league in pace, it could set up the perfect storm for Houston to sneak a win if they convert on all the extra possessions.

Is this possible? Sure, but what’s probably more likely is that the Warriors handle their business and build a big enough lead going into the fourth that they can rest their starters for tomorrow.
