Duke-Charleston Southern Postponed
As another one bites the dust
The Duke-Charleston Southern game, which was scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled.
Three guesses as to why, and the first two don’t count.
This is the second game that’s been postponed for Duke and it also means that the Mako Medical Duke Classic Honoring Dr. Onye E. Akwari, may or may not completely take place, or at least not this year. We’ll have to wait and see how things work out.
That means that Duke enters ACC play with just games against Michigan State and Illinois, both losses, and Coppin State and Bellarmine as the wins.
Charleston Southern would be a useful test run but if they can’t make it, perhaps Gardner-Webb- could come on the 14th, after visiting Pitt on the 12th. Or Duke could do something very interesting, and perhaps risky, and invite Central over for a game. That would be some tight scheduling - the Eagles have games on the 11th and 12th (at UNC). The 14th might be too fast but at least you’d get another game in and right now, proximity might trump everything else.
