[Women's Basketball] Jackson names Graham as new assistant

0 29

Excited and grateful describe Georgetown College women's basketball's newest assistant Lexxus Graham. Coach James Jackson announced his hire Thursday afternoon. Graham will join the staff, replacing Kylee Gorby who has taken the head coaching position at Spalding University.

"I've been so excited in this whole process," Graham said. "I know I keep using that word, but it's just the perfect definition to be able to step up my career into the collegiate level of coaching. This is definitely fulfillment of a dream.

"I'm thankful to Coach Jackson for the opportunity and to my dad who has helped me get to where I am – first as a player and now as a coach."

Graham is no stranger to Kentucky basketball or the Mid-South Conference. She dominated the hardwood as a guard for George Rogers Clark. The Lady Cardinals were 119-67 in her six seasons on the varsity team with several KHSAA Girls' Sweet Sixteen appearances. She even hit a record seven threes in one state game. From there she signed and played for Campbellsville University, helping the Lady Tigers to a 118-25 mark in her four years.
