I've never started a game thread...but here goes.
The UConn game should have been a great opportunity for our program. The current edition of UConn women's BB is the weakest in over 20 years. Hiow come? UConn lost two terrific seniors....both All Amercians...both selected among the first few in the WNBA draft...one was the WNBA rookie of the year....the duo produced the most points of any pair in UConn history. That's how come...a big loss that has not been replaced.
Last year's #6 player moved to the starting line up and she's very good. The fifth slot has not been replaced and is being filled by "committee" with three players rotating in and out. Essentially zero point production from a position that was responsible for 20+ points last year. And there is a chemistry issue that will take some time to work out.
Having said all that, UConn is ranked 4th and is very good.
The UD game is the only UConn game not on "regular" TV; a shame. ESPN+, Ugh!
My prediction, UConn by 20++. Oh how I hope I'm wrong.
