What a terrible loss for the Winstons

Cassius Winston and his family have suffered a grievous loss: his younger brother Zachary, who played for Albion College, was struck by a train and killed Saturday.

Police think he acted with purpose and that it was not an accident.

Last year we began to develop a great appreciation of Winston who is not the most talented guard in the world but a nearly perfect point guard for Michigan State. He’s also an excellent student and overall leader.

Our hearts really go out to him and his family as they try to understand what happened. The best thing about this right now is that Winston has two families - his birth family and his Michigan State team. Clearly his teammates respect him immensely and we’re sure they’ll provide as much support as they can while he comes to terms with this.
