[Men's Basketball] Basketball Seniors Finish Season with Hard-Fought Win over Bluefield

LAURINBURG, N.C. - The St. Andrews University men's basketball team finished their 2018-2019 season with a win over AAC foe, Bluefield College, 66-61.
The Knights got out to a quick 6-0 lead led by all 5 seniors for St. Andrews, but the Rams rallied back to make the game very close throughout the half. The score would be tied five different times in the first twenty minutes of play, with each team struggling on offense. The Knights would shoot for 40 percent, going 12 for 30, while the Rams shot for 31 percent in the first half. The Rams scored the last four points of the half, cutting the Knights' lead to only one point, 30-29.
St. Andrews came out on fire in the second half creating a 7-point lead in the first 4 minutes of play until the Rams put a stop to the Knights offense and dominating much of the half. The Knights were trailing Bluefield up until the 2-minute mark when senior Carlos Heath (SR/Rochester, NY) tied the game with a made two-pointer, putting the score at 59 all. The remaining two minutes of the game was led by the Knights, winning by 5 points with a score of 66-61.
Recording a phenomenal last game was senior Christian Lathan (SR/Fayetteville, NC), the lone Knight to score double digits, with his 23 points. Lathan recorded his career-high of 23 points going 9 for 10 in field goals and shooting perfect from behind the arc with his 4 three's. Senior Bryan Brache (SR/Raleigh, NC) collected 8 points and a team-high of 10 rebounds while Luis Rossi (SR/Sao Joao, Brazil), brought in 7 points. Carlos Heath tallied 6 points in his last game of his career, finishing his time at St. Andrews with 348 points in his two years. Senior Warren Vinson (SR/Rock Hill, SC) put up 5 points in the final game of the season, finishing his year at SAU with an impressive 416 points.
