Gotta admit, it’s been a weird couple of years for athletes in sculpture form. The latest is this interpretation of Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah, which looks like Richard Simmons doing his morning yoga.

The artwork in on display in Egypt as part of a youth art forum, which makes me feel bad making fun of a kid’s work. But here we are.
I’m going to list all the things I’ve heard this compared to, in no particular order:
“It looks like Dobby with a fro.”
“That looks like Eric Andre.”
“I like to think one person made the head and another made the body, and one of them got the dimensions wrong.”
“Is that Doc Brown trying to get hit by a Dolorean?”
“It looks like an idol kids need to find in the Hidden Temple.”
I’m a huge fan of this new genre of art that highlights the lack of crossover with the sport and art world. Just in case you’re on the fence and thinking “it’s not that bad” then let me change your mind in one image.
