It’s officially “Derozing Time” in San Antonio
With his stellar play, especially during crunch time, DeMar DeRozan has quickly become a fan favorite. Now, his clutch capabilities are a T-shirt.
When DeMar DeRozan was traded to the San Antonio Spurs over the summer, shock waves reverberated around the NBA.
But those days appear to be long gone, especially since DeRozan has been electric in a Spurs uniform this season.
It’s still very early, but the four-time All Star is off to the best start of his 10-year career, posting highs in points (28.3), assists (8) and rebounds (6).
Not only is DeRozan putting up huge numbers, but he’s doing it in crunch time, too. As Pounding The Rock notes, in the last five minutes of games in which the score is separated by five points or less, the 29-year-old has scored 21 points with five assists, six rebounds and zero turnovers. That’s hella impressive.
In Monday’s 113-108 overtime win against the Mavericks, DeRozan was 3-for-3 and scored six points to seal the win and help the Spurs jump to an impressive 4-2 start.
It’s officially “Derozing Time” in San Antonio.
And for Spurs fans who have been hesitant to pick up a DeRozan jersey
We get it. You probably needed some convincing before you jumped on the DeRozan hype train. But now that he’s putting up buckets for the Spurs, it’s getting a bit easier to forget about the Kawhi Leonard jersey hiding in your closet.
