[Football] Thresher offense explodes on Fall Fest; Break 77-year rushing record in 56-42 ...
NORTH NEWTON, Kan. - Looking for their first victory on Fall Fest since 2014, as well as for the 2018 season, the Bethel Threshers (1-4, 1-4) finally had it all come together last night against the McPherson Bulldogs (3-2, 3-2). Averaging over 10 yards per offensive play, the ground game busted open the Bulldog defense for a school-record 512 yards, breaking the previous 77-year old record of 406 yards. The Bulldogs were able to get their licks in as well, but the Thresher defense did not break when it mattered, including a huge interception from Charles Johnson (SR/Phoenix, Ariz.) to close out the first half at the one-yard line. Bethel's Brayden Francis (FR/Sedgwick, Kan.) went 8/8 in PAT's, also breaking a school record, as the Threshers defeated McPherson 56-42.
