[WHAC] NAIA Names 126 WHAC Teams as Scholar-Teams
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) saw 126 teams named NAIA Scholar-Team for the 2017-18 academic year. The teams were part of 1,862 teams NAIA-wide to earn the distinction. For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0-grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
Aquinas lead with 17 WHAC teams earning the honor and 18 overall when including Competitive Dance, which the league doesn't sponsor. The women's golf team from Siena Heights finished with a 3.84 GPA for the fourth overall spot.
