Steve Kerr jokes that Steve Nash could help the injured Warriors out on the court

Steve Nash, a player development consultant for the Warriors, could fill in for the injured Stephen Curry in an alternate universe.

The Warriors have been quite banged up for a while now: Stephen Curry has been out with a sprained ankle for a few weeks and will miss at least one more, while Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, Zaza Pachulia, and Shaun Livingston have missed recent games due to minor injuries.

On Thursday, coach Steve Kerr joked that Steve Nash, former two-time MVP and current player development coach for the Warriors, could fill in for a few days to help out the shorthanded team.

Steve Nash is currently 43 years old and three years removed from his NBA career, but he can still shoot the ball. His shooting form is still so distinctive and clean.

He’s been at Warriors’ practice a lot lately, working with Stephen Curry on his return from injury, even designing an exercise and contraption for Curry to work with.

Obviously, Steve Nash won’t play basketball for the Warriors, but he’s still a part of the basketball process behind the scenes. In many ways, Nash at the height of his abilities paved the way for Steph Curry to be who he is on the court: a ballhandler, passer, and shooter extraordinaire. Even though Nash isn’t active anymore, his style of play lives on.
