[Women's Basketball] Women's Basketball Pick Up Win on the Road

On their first road trip of the season, the Lady Bearcats ventured to St. Mary of the Woods to take on the high scoring Pomeroys. Those in attendance were treated to a very high scoring affair. In the first half, the Lady Bearcats received outstanding scoring production from Kelsey Kirkpatrick (SR), Princess Holloway (SO) and Le'Onzerrae Grubbs (JR). Each player scored in double figures by halftime. The fast pace affair, saw Brescia go on two solid 10-0 scoring spurts, but the Pomeroys countered each time to close the gap within four. At halftime the score was 53-44 in favor of the Lady Bearcats.

The third quarter started in the same fashion that the second quarter ended. The Lady Bearcats outscored the Pomeroys 34-19 in the third quarter. The final score was 100-89 with Brescia coming out on top of St. Mary of the Woods. Holloway led all scorers with 25 points, followed by Kirkpatrick with 17 and Grubbs with 12 points. Also, in double figure were Catherine Dunn(JR) and sophomores Alicia Salazar and Jayde Robinson with 10 points each. The Lady Bearcats shot 54.2% from the field and 66.7% from the foul line. Head Coach Mike Gray added, "I was pleased with the outcome, but we've got to get in better condition as a team."

 The Lady Bearcats will be in action next Tuesday at Lindsey Wilson.
