SummerSlam 2017 results: Natalya puts on a wrestling clinic against Naomi

Natalya countered Naomi’s glow with a trademark Hart family Sharpshooter.

Natalya and Naomi battled in a knock-down-drag-out fight for the SmackDown WWE Women's Championship, but Natalya walked out of SummerSlam as your new champion.

Natalya started the match by quickly slapping Naomi, but Naomi returned the favor by elbowing Natalya and slapping her back. Then, Naomi connected on a Blockbuster outside of the ring.

Later, Natalya had enough and decided to attack Naomi's knee to slow her down. After that, Natalya delivered suplexes and pinned Naomi early and often. Natalya inflicted more pain by applying a cleverly-executed abdominal stretch on Naomi in the middle of ring.

Even though Natalya was in control for the majority of the match, she began to look frustrated and started jawing with the crowd.

Naomi had a hard time generating offense against Natalya. Every time an opening presented itself, Naomi couldn't capitalize. Natalya thought she smelled blood in the water when she applied a Sharpshooter to Naomi in the middle of the ring, but Naomi countered it quickly. However, Natalya applied it again after escaping Naomi’s split-legged moonsault, and the champion tapped out in pain. Natalya hadn't won a women's championship in six years, and it was a huge moment to see her lift the title high once more after going so long without it.
