Iorizzo: A fun run in sports writing comes to an end

Have I told you about the time I was standing outside a Philadelphia hotel in the middle of a cold November night wearing nothing but gym shorts?

The Saints had lost a surprisingly competitive contest at Pennsylvania that, it turned out, foretold a pretty good 2005-06 season, the first of former coach Fran McCaffery's tenure.

[...] even in the moments when sports writing wasn't quite as glamorous as some might imagine, I was sure I had a dream job — covering college basketball, traveling, a byline in the sports section.

Twelve years later, I've tried on a few different job titles, and much has changed in sports journalism.

After having been on press row for some of the biggest moments in Great Danes' history, I'm thrilled to join an amazingly talented team of professionals, coaches and student-athletes.
