2017 Bold Predictions
- Mikie Mahtook will get the majority of starts in CF, play adequate defense and contribute with a .250 avg and a dozen HR’s. His platoon partner will be Anthony Gose.
- Steven Moya will be traded prior to Opening Day. The return will be a player to be named and/or cash.
- Jordan Zimmerman will pitch 180 innings, but be a .500 pitcher.
- Daniel Norris will win at least 15 games, with a sub-3.50 ERA
- Anibal Sanchez will win the 5th starter role and win 12+ games
- James McCann will hit .260
- So will Justin Upton
- Unfortunately, so will JD Martinez who struggles with the pressure due to his walk-year
- K-Rod will not be the closer come June 1 (or sooner)
- Justin Wilson will be the dominant arm in the bullpen, followed by Bruce Rondon
- September call-ups will include Tyler Alexander, Michael Gerber and Christin Stewart (Joe Jiminez will be up by the ASG.
- Ian Kinsler will score 100 runs again
- The Tigers will be in contention all season, and will not be sellers at the trade deadline. They won’t be buyers, either
- The Tigers will draft a high school, right-handed pitcher with their first pick in the amateur draft
