2015 Rawlings Baseball Bats

0

Rawlings BBCOR and Senior League bats are always a popular choice for ball players.  The new line is no exception.  The 5150, Velo and Trio are all back with upgraded graphics and some new technology.  The guys at Better Baseball have tested them out and are here to give their feedback and to let you know what to expect from the new models.

2015 Rawlings 5150 BBCOR Baseball Bat

Let’s start with the 5150.  Fire engine red is a good look.  Everyone at the shop agrees that graphically the 5150 has upgraded from the bland look of last years model.  The new model is very balanced as expected and has a nice loud ping sound.  It is a one piece alloy bat at the $199.95 price point.  It will compete well with the Easton S3Z and Demarini Vexxum.

The Trio is back with its 3 piece barrel technology. This bat started catching on last year and has been a surprising choice amongst our crew.  The ball really seems to fly off this barrel and with an extremely balanced option or an end loaded option for power hitters this bat really has it all.  It’s not our favorite of the 3 models but it without a doubt a great performing unit.  For $399.95 there is some competition at this price point, but it is worth giving it a shot.

  RawlingsVeloBBCOR Baseball Bat

Our favorite bat in the bunch is the 2015 Rawlings Velo BBCOR.  This bat is super balanced and has an awesome sound.  The ball launches off this bat and it is hands down one of the best BBCOR bat models we have ever tested.  Once again we feel that graphically this bat is a major upgrade over last years model.  Expect to see plenty of Velo bats on the field next year in the hands of some dominate hitters.  It is also available in an end-load model for power hitters.  At $299.95 this bat offers great performance at a premium price.
