Argentina closed their participation in the WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup with a 10–4 win over Singapore.
Mexico 1 - 2 Japan - Super Round
Rio Takahashi tossed a complete game and Kyogo Agata delivered a two-run single to power Japan past Mexico, 2–1, setting up a rematch of the 2023 final against Australia.
Takahashi was dominant in the circle, allowing just three hits and one run while striking out five. Mexico’s lone run came on a solo home run by Axel Miranda in the fourth inning.
Japan did its damage in the bottom of the third. Hitto Nagayoshi reached on a fielding error and Kaito Shiba drew a walk to put two runners on with no outs. Both advanced on a wild pitch before Agata drove them in with a single up the middle. The second baseman finished 2-for-2 and provided all the run support Takahashi needed.
Carlos Parra was charged with the loss despite a strong outing, striking out 13 over six innings while allowing two runs on four hits.
Singapore 4 - 10 Argentina - Placement Round
Argentina closed their participation in the WBSC U-23 Men’s Softball World Cup with a 10–4 win over Singapore. Trailing 4–0 in the fourth inning, Argentina responded with 10 unanswered runs to seal the comeback victory.
Khalil Luna homered twice and now leads the tournament with six, setting a new single-edition record. He drove in three runs, while Luciano Biondi, Francesco Nassivera and Joshua Poblete added two RBIs each.
Bogdan Becic earned the win, striking out five over two innings of relief. Zan Kai Tan took the loss for Singapore.
Argentina finish the tournament in seventh place, while Singapore place 11th.
