The series will be the latest instalment of MLB’s World Tour and will mark the third regular season visit by MLB to Mexico’s capital city, following the 2023 series between the Padres and San Francisco Giants, and the 2024 set between the Houston Astros and the Colorado Rockies.
Monterrey hosted the first MLB regular season games played outside the continental United States and Canada in 1996 on August 16, 17 and 18 when the San Diego Padres faced the New York Mets. MLB's World Tour has brought regular season games also to Asia, Oceania and Europe. Japan (2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2019, and 2025), Australia (2014), Korea (2024) and the United Kingdom (2019, 2023 and 2024) hosted MLB regular season series. Outside the continental USA and Canada, the World Tour also reached Puerto Rico in 2001, 2010 and 2018.
