Phillies fans will have to stay up late to watch Giants series
This week’s Phillies vs. Giants series in San Francisco features two late start times.
You’ll have to compromise on sleep to watch all of the action. The first two games on Monday and Tuesday night have 9:45 p.m. start times for fans on the east coast. Getaway day on Wednesday will have a much better 3:45 p.m. ET. start time.
Choosing sleep is usually the right decision when the Phillies are in San Francisco. Oracle Park has been a house of horrors for the Phillies in recent years. Philadelphia has not won a series in San Francisco since 2013. Since that last series win, the Phillies are 8-28 on the road against the Giants.
San Francisco is not off to a great start under new manager Tony Vitello. They are 3-7 and have just dropped three of four to the New York Mets at home. They have lost each of their first two home series, with their only series win of the year coming at Petco Park against the Padres. Their lineup has scored three runs or fewer in eight of their first 10 games.
Former Phillie Harrison Bader is one of the many Giants regulars stuck in a slump. He is 4-for-34 with a home run through 10 games with his new team.
Andrew Painter will make his first career start on the road on Monday night. Cristopher Sánchez gets the ball on Tuesday and Aaron Nola will start Wednesday’s finale.
All three games will be broadcasted locally. Color analyst Ruben Amaro Jr. will be in the booth with play-by-play man Tom McCarthy in the television booth. Here’s how to watch this week’s Phillies vs. Giants games.
