Morning Briefing: Mets Drop Series in St. Louis
Good morning, Mets fans!
After taking the season opener in St. Louis on Monday night, the Mets have dropped back-to-back games, losing their three-game set to the Cardinals. Despite another stellar start and overall pitching performance, this time from Freddy Peralta, who put together 5 1/3 innings of one-run ball, the Mets fell short. Their offensive woes continued as a lone Juan Soto homer provided the only production of the day for New York, losing 2-1.
The Mets have a quick turnaround, starting a four-game set in San Francisco against the Giants on Thursday night at 9:45 p.m. ET with David Peterson on the mound.
